Would I be sent off to BCT right away (during the summer right after i graduate?)?

i don't kn ow about the army but ny brother and i are MP's in the air force. i chose to spend the summer at home after i graduated,and the recruiter helped me pick my dates, you should have a little control over when you leave within a few weeks. also my brother went to basic and tec school before he turned 18 and went to iraq 3 mo. after turning 18. look at all the branches to see witch one is best for you, and look into what you really want to do, i thought i would be doing the same kind of job as civilian cops, but its a lot different than i thought.
