Connoisseur's, chefs for calamari batter?

hey guys i was wondering, although beer batter is really quite simple... but ever since i tasted something like upscale restaurant in omaha or upriver or somethn i was wondering to all you out there what is your favorite calamari batter recipe, they were selling entire whole arrowhead squids at foodland for no more than 3 bucks so i want make some awesome calamari. im guessing something like garlic powder paprika chilli powder cajun powder atleast thats to my taste's but im trying for something of the more known places like outback or chilli's awesome blossom batters but better. in short, im looking for the worlds bestest calamari batter. guy's if anyone has worked for upriver and unjustly fired i'll be happy to take that recipe off your hands.
